The Mississippi Community Cookbook Project is seeking your support. Eventually, we hope to feature interviews with Mississippians who contributed to community cookbooks. If you would like to be volunteer to be interviewed by students studying Mississippi foodways, please let us know below.
In the meantime, we (along with the McCain Archives) are seeking donations. We are collecting Mississippi community cookbooks (not single-author cookbooks) published by volunteer associations. Cookbooks donated to the project will become part of the permanent collection at McCain Archives. Cookbooks published before 1970 will be digitized and made available online. However, we are also seeking more recent cookbooks to add to the permanent collection at USM. We are especially interested in locating African American authored cookbooks. (If you are reluctant to give up a family heirloom, we understand, but would still love to take a look at your cookbook.) To donate, please contact us at using the form below or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
